About
Erick Oscar

Erick Oscar has been playing acoustic guitar and writing songs for more than thirty years. He grew up listening to music every weekend — usually ballads and love songs — and still treats the guitar as therapy: a way to work through what a day leaves behind.

Born in Panama, Erick has lived in the United States for 34 years and became an American citizen decades ago. Work has also taken him to postings across nearly every country in Latin America. That combination — Panamanian roots, an American home, and a life spent moving through Latin America — is what makes his catalog eclectic rather than a single genre.

He writes and sings in both English and Spanish, and draws from country, pop, ballads, salsa, merengue, bachata, flamenco, vallenato, reggaeton, mariachi, and more. Country music holds a particular place for him — he hears it as deep, raw, and pure. Across every style, the standard is the same: the song has to say something.

Erick writes all of his own lyrics and works closely with music-production software to build the instrumentation, arrangement, and vocal performance around them — a process that has turned him, by his own description, into an amateur producer who loves trying new things.

“Music connects with our souls in a way that nothing else does.”
